Undergraduate Students

GPA Requirements

  • Overall: 3.2 minimum
  • Major: 3.4 minimum

Course Requirements:

  • Competed Principles of Accounting 1 – ACCT 2101
  • Completed Principles of Accounting 2 – ACCT 2102)
  • Accounting Majors: Enrolled in or completed either ACCT 4111 or ACCT 4210
  • CIS Majors: Enrolled in or completed either CIS 3730, CIS 3300, or CIS 3001
  • Finance Majors: Enrolled in or completed either FI 4000 or FI 4020
IMPORTANT! Academic Requirements:
*All new BAP candidates must declare their candidacy when they have at least the equivalent of one academic year (two semesters) remaining prior to graduation*If you have completed any upper level Accounting course
The grades you received in ACCT 2101 and ACCT 2102 (or Finance and CIS equivalents depending on your major) will not be included in your Major GPA calculation.*If you have completed ACCT 2101 and ACCT 2102 AND are enrolled in an upper level Accounting, CIS, or Finance course:
The ACCT 2101 and ACCT 2102 grades will be considered and you will be admitted as a conditional candidate*.*Conditional Candidate: Being a conditional candidate means you will be admitted as a candidate during the semester but your GPA will be reviewed at the end of the semester once you have completed an upper level course before you will be able to officially become a member.

Graduate Students

  • GPA Requirements: 3.3 minimum*
    *If you do not have a GPA yet because you are just starting the program, you will be admitted as a Conditional Candidate and your GPA will be reviewed again at the end of the semester.
  • Enrollment Requirements:
    Must be enrolled in a graduate program in Accounting, CIS, and/or Finance
    **BAP candidates must declare their candidacy when they have at least the equivalent of one academic year (two semesters) remaining prior to graduation

 

Financial Requirements

All candidates and members are required to pay SEMESTER DUES by 4:30 pm on September 11, 2017 or forfeit their opportunity to participate in BAP Activities

Semester Dues Include: 

  • $80 Application Fee
  • (Optional) $50 Global Impact Project Donation (tax-deductible) which can be raised through fundraisers

 

Participation Requirements

Candidate Orientation

  • 6 – Professional Meetings
  • 1 – BAP Sponsored Community Service Events
  • 2 – Proctoring Event
  • All Chapter Meetings
  • Initiation Banquet
IMPORTANT!
*All candidates must attend the end-of-semester initiation banquet in order to successfully complete their candidacy. Any candidate that does not attend initiation, regardless of prior participation, will not be eligible for membership.Committee Responsibilities
All candidates will be assigned to a committee by the third professional meeting and must complete committee duties as determined by the Committee Chair*Candidates are required to sign in and out of all events.* If students have any conflicts, they must complete a form of appeal to the VP of Reporting at least two weeks prior to the missed event. Missing a mandatory event without notice can prevent you from participating in any future Beta Alpha Psi events.

The deadline to apply for Beta Alpha Psi Candidacy is on September 11, 2017 at 4:30 pm. Please note that by completing the following form does not complete your candidacy requirement. You will be contacted via email by our VP of Membership after we review your application.

Academic Evaluation

Bring a copy of your Academic Evaluation to the first meeting.

Steps to print your Academic Evaluation:

  1. Log In to Paws or Gosolar.
  2. Click Student Records.
  3. Click View Academic Evaluation.
  4. Click Print on the top right corner.

 

Pay Due

We accept payments in the form of cash and checks which can be brought to our first meeting. You can also pay online through Paypal. As a reminder, payments are due by midnight on September 11, 2017.

Semester Dues Include:

  • $80 Candidate Fee
NOTE: There will be $2 additional fee when you pay online!
